Dahab Masters Freediving

MASTERS FREEDIVING PROGRAM

25M → 100M+

Train in Dahab with Matthew Hill and learn to freedive with a professional approach to deep diving.

This program is designed for divers looking for serious progression, high-quality coaching, small groups, and real-world deep diving experience from a coach who has personally dived 115m.

How does it work and who can join ?

The Masters Freediving Program runs from September until the end of December in Dahab. Each week follows a structured training system with set dive days, rest days, and workshops designed to help you progress efficiently and recover properly like a real freediver.

This is not just a certification course. The focus is on learning how to train, dive, recover, and think like a professional freediver through consistent coaching and real depth experience.

You must already be comfortable diving to 20m before joining.

You may gain your Molchanovs Wave 2 or Wave 3 certification if you stay long enough and meet the requirements, but the goal of this program is progression and long-term development not simply passing a course. Anyone can join as long as you are diving 20m already and the max depth available will be 92m.

UK deepest freediver

Matt Hill

Hello, I’m Matt, head coach of the Masters Freediving Program.

I’ve designed this program to focus on the key areas that create real progression in freediving — equalisation, mindset, repetition, relaxation, and learning how to find flow state in your dives.

You’ll learn how I personally train and prepare as the UK’s deepest freediver and one of the deepest in the world, with a personal best of 115m. The goal is not just to dive deeper, but to build the habits, understanding, and consistency needed to progress like a professional freediver.

HOW DOES A WEEK RUN

The programme follows a fixed weekly schedule, so you can join on any day of the week and slot straight into the training. The minimum stay is one week, although most divers choose to train for longer to get the most from the programme.

Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday are open water training days. Sessions last up to three hours, giving you plenty of time for multiple dives, coaching and video feedback. We meet each morning for stretching, breathing exercises and a group equalisation check before heading into the water. After diving, we have lunch together and the day finishes. There are no scheduled afternoon activities, as we strongly encourage you to rest and recover—especially if you're training for several weeks.

Wednesday and Thursday are dedicated to dry training. These days include pool sessions, group equalisation workshops, stretching, mobility work and theory classes, giving you the opportunity to refine your technique away from the open water.

Sunday is a full rest day, allowing both your body and mind to recover before another week of training.

Please bring your own freediving equipment, including your fins, mask, snorkel, wetsuit and lanyard. Weight belts and weights are provided throughout your stay.

The programme is designed to provide a balance of structured training, technical development and recovery, helping you make consistent progress throughout your time in Dahab.
